I don’t see a location for my Windows machine, why?

After initial installation DriveStrike does not immediately publish your public and private IP addresses. If you simply wait a while it will update on the server but if you want this to update sooner you can reboot your machine and it will force DriveStrike to report and confirm the location.

Why is the location that is displayed not my actual location?

We currently only display the public IP Address location even though we are capturing both IP Addresses. We will be updating the service in May 2018 to publish a more detailed location. In the meantime if you need further help retrieving your lost or stolen device, please file a police report and we will work with the local law enforcement agency and the associate Internet Service Provider (ISP) to reveal the specific private IP Address location and owner.
